Why America’s Military is VITAL to World Affairs Save for later Reblog
To all the people hating on the US Military – this is for you.
The people who say America needs to stop being the “World’s Policeman” and that America needs to stop getting involved with foreign issues – this is for you.
World War Two, it was from 1939 to 1945. Britain could not fight it alone, so America officially began sending troops in 1941.
Post War, everything is dead. All of Europe is destroyed, economies are flat-lining – What happens?
The US gives financial and food aid to nearly all of Europe! Its called the Marshall plan, we helped every nation outside of the iron curtain recover.
The Iron Curtain was the name for the divide between Soviet controlled areas and the West.
After being instrumental to rebuilding all of Europe, we engage in the Cold War. Eventually the Soviet Union collapses and the nations of eastern Europe are all to recover their right to self determination. Lots of stuff happens and here we are today. What’s changed?
After the United States helped establish South Korea and give them military and financial aid – we got a new monkey on our back called Kim Jong-Un. He’s the DICTATOR of North Korea, the nation with 21st century concentration camps! And now, America has bases in South Korea in case that DICTATOR, tries something. As of 2018 our role is clear, keep a strong military for when South Korea needs us.
Post WW2, we also have an ally in Japan. The United States helped write their constitution to end the monarchy there. The Monarchy that oversaw The Rape of Nanking and numerous other atrocities across the globe. The Monarchy that lead to people flying suicide planes into boats, most of them dying before they reached one!
Japan and the USA come to an agreement. From now on, the USA is the military of Japan. If something happens, the USA will defend Japan. There have been talks of changing the constiution, but most japanese people are skeptical of doing that. As of 2018, our role is still clear, keep a strong military for when Japan needs us.
How about… ALL OF EUROPE??
As of 2017-2018, the government of Russia is being awfully expansionist. So much so, that Poland is worried and has been asking NATO to station more troops by the Poland-Russia Border.
NATO, is a military organization of allies within Europe.
The USA pays for 22% of the cost of running NATO.
23 out of 28 NATO states, are spending less than 2% of their GDP on NATO
So, 82% of countries in NATO, are paying less than 2% of their GDP for NATO.
If every country paid 2% of their GDP, NATO would have almost 120 billion MORE in funding
OH! And 13 members of NATO pay less than 1% of their GDP.
So who is carrying NATO?
The USA pays 22% of NATO, Germany pays close to 15% of NATO, Then France and Britain both contribute 10% each. So 57% of NATO is paid for by 4 countries.
And its not just about the money! The US gives thousands of troops to NATO as well. Let alone the military intelligence we’ve shared… Bottom line is, NATO would be fish food without the USA. And Europe needs NATO to keep Russia in check.

Back on topic – RUSSIA! They act aggressive, the USA pushes them to back off. And now the globalists will crawl out of the woodwork saying “The United Nations Rules!”
The US pays for 22% of the UN budget and 28% of their “peacekeeping budget” AKA the military budget. And again I’ll add in, we supply The UN with piles of troops and supplies!
Former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said that U.N. peacekeeping just can’t be done without American involvement. So the Secretary General of the UN said themselves that the USA is instrumental to creating a proper functioning UN.
Its not just troops and money! We provide intelligence, military generals, logistics, aircrafts, tanks, and many other assets to the United Nations! Truly, the United States in the unsung hero of the world! We plunge ourselves deeper into debt all while the nations of Europe reap the benefits!
ISRAEL. We are an instrumental partner to Israel. We give them tons of financial aid and weaponry that is instrumental to their stability. You can have your opinion on what should be done about the Palestinians, but regardless! The bottom line is that if we turn our backs on Israel, a lot of countries are going to view it as the perfect opportunity to attack, and millions will die.
That’s not a pessimistic view of the world, that’s simply fact! The nations surrounding Israel have attacked it relentlessly in numerous wars not very long ago! Since its inception in 1947, Israel has been attacked by its neighbors without just cause, constantly!
And because you say that Israel deserved to be attacked, you’ll have to explain why these nations attacked it, THE YEAR ISRAEL WAS ESTABLISHED!!! The nation hadn’t even had time to do anything, and already they were under attack! I could go on to talk about the Khartoum Resolution, where Israel’s foes outright stated their intent to massacre all Israeli citizens without mercy, but I think I’ve made my point. Without the United States, Israel will face annihilation.
BUT! We’re not letting that happen because we keep a strong military to protect our allies.
I think you get it, we help a lot in military conflicts around the world, but what else?
AFRICOM! A US program to send forces and resources to promote peace in Africa. They respond to humanitarian crisises, military threats, and help stabilize an unstable region. Simply put, without the United States they’d be screwed.
The US also helps negotiate and end hostage crisises around the globe, we send aid to tsunami and earthquake victims, and I know what you’ll say! “That has nothing to do with the military” – but you’re wrong!
Like we saw with Hurricane Katrina in the USA, when electricity and food are gone, law and order breaks down. And you need military boots on the ground to keep the peace. When a tsunami hits, do you honestly think everyone holds hands and sings in a drum circle? NO! THEY START FIGHTING AND STEALING AND KILLING EACH OTHER!
Then there’s all the byproducts of our efforts! The USA fighting terror groups in the middle east, helps Europe. The USA destroying ISIS will decrease the power of radical terror groups in the region. Weakening these terror groups means there will be a lot LESS suicide bombings in the West. Because as we all know, ISIS produces propoganda videos to recruit americans into suicide bombing public places. We destroy ISIS, and we’re making great progress in stopping terrorism as a whole.
All of this, while we continuously give financial aid to other countries of all sizes!

Then, our military bases. We build them everywhere – not for the fun of it – but because foreign nations like Israel actually give us the land! For free! They say, YES PLEASE BUILD A BASE HERE.
The uninformed will tell you we forced these bases upon them, that US Military bases are an intrusion. That’s a complete fantasy! Poland is another example, of a country inviting US Military presence to deter foreign aggression. US Military bases are a sign of cooperation, not aggression.
These governments actually consent, they want us there, because money! Because if the US wants to grow its national debt to help Europe, sure! Go Wild! If the US wants to share its military arms and technology, sure! Go Wild! If the US wants to fund most of NATO and most of the UN, sure! Go Wild! Free money and protection, is always a good thing.
And in case you didn’t realize, in 2020, its official that WW2 was 75 years ago. What brought that peace? It wasn’t holding hands and playing peek a boo! Having a strong military, stops people from picking on the USA. We deter them.
And one last thing – Cherry on Top – The US Navy patrols the oceans of the world, free of charge. We stop pirates and keep freedom of the seas – especially around Africa! We also keep ocean waterways open to allow for free trade across the globe.
The reason you can buy an iPad built in China as cheaply as you can is that the US Navy discourages pirates from seizing the cargo ships.
The reason gasoline prices are as low as they are is that the US Navy, along with its British partners, keeps the Straits of Hormuz open despite periodic threats to close it.
And then we have the economics – What if we reduce our military budget? What will happen? Catastrophe. A substantial number of Americans make their livings building things for the military (ships, planes, trucks, tanks, etc). Close a shipyard and possibly thousands of people (the actual shipyard workers and the people who make their living supporting the shipyard workers) would become unemployed.
Fort Hood, Texas, is the largest Army base in the United States. Close it down and what do you do with the 53,000 soldiers that were stationed there? What do you do with the barbers who make their living cutting the soldier’s hair? What do you do with the owner of the apartment complex who would all of a sudden have no tenants in his now vacant apartments? Or the owners and employees of all the bars & restaurants in that area whose customer base was the soldiers and their families?
So we come back to the question of responsible spending. Should the government pay for Bradley Manning’s penis mutilation? Or should we put that money toward saving the world? Maybe I’m completely crazy, but I think money in the military, is money well spent. Guys, I’ll see you in the next article.
