Republican Stupidity Save for later Reblog
Liz Wheeler is wrong about spending and politics. She pretends, like all conservatives, that if we just believe in the principle of spending less and small government, then less spending is what will happen. Here’s why that is bunk: Women as a group, particularly single women, tend to vote much more for political parties that give them more free stuff, promise to spend more on things that appeal to women.
That’s the basic reason government has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger….since we gave women the vote. The thing driving the ever expanding size of government is not political belief, it’s female nature. Women evolved to be taken care of, by men. They get pregnant and need to be taken care of, because they will have families. That’s where that instinct in women comes from. It’s natural. It’s good. But it certainly can be completely warped. And that’s what we have done: warp our country by not understanding female nature and the feminine need to be looked after by men. That is irresponsible of Republican men. With women and men and government, it’s always a choice: Either men look after women, or women will vote in Big Government, to look after them. That’s where their instinct to be looked after by men….or by the new husband substitute of government…that’s where that comes from: Female nature. It does not come from political belief.
Proof of this can be inferred by looking at the difference between voting pattern of women in general and also looking at the voting pattern of married women vs. single women. In general women tend to vote Democrat more than they vote Republican. Why is that? It’s because Democrats, they are the party of Big Government…their whole platform is based on giving women free stuff. They are the Party of Women….and Single Women in particular, who vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. That’s why almost all the feminists are in the Democrat Party, not in the Republican Party. The Democrats embraced feminism as a way of catering to women, even more than Republicans cater to women. Feminists are all about free money for women, getting more of it, from men…..and giving it to women.
If you look at the voting pattern of married women vs. single women, the married women tend to vote, in much greater numbers, for fiscally conservative parties like Republicans. Single women tend to vote in much greater numbers for fiscally liberal parties like the Democrats. A careful reader might ask: But doesn’t this mean that married women are more fiscally conservative than single women and doesn’t it mean that married women are less interested in taxing other people and taking their money?….than are single women? No. Definitely not.
What it means is, married women already have a man looking after them. The married women are living off his money. Most people know that married men tend to earn more money than single men. So, in figuring out why married women tend to vote more for fiscally conservative parties, here is the key to thinking about it: Married women are not so much interested in smaller government and lower taxes, that’s not it. So what is it driving married women to vote for fiscally conservative parties? It’s just that married women realize that for them, for married women, higher taxes and bigger government means the government taking money away from THEIR husband, thus indirectly taking money away from married women…. from them. So for married women, voting for small government Republicans is not a form of superior ideological political belief. Instead, it’s just a form of selfishness, of keeping the money married women already have.
But for single women, they face a different real life dilemma, than do married women: Single women don’t have a husband. That means a money shortage for single women. As it happens, when you survey women who are single, and you ask them what are you looking for in a husband, the top answer is money. It’s career, it’s social status….which are all code for money. That’s what single women want in a man: Money. If they don’t get money from a man via marriage, they will vote for a government that gives them the thing they are looking for, in a man: That thing, being money.
So single women don’t have that extra income that comes from having a husband. So they need more money. They look at married women, who have a husband, who have extra money and the single women are jealous of them. The single women wonder for a minute: If they don’t have a husband, where will they get extra money from? That answer is pretty obvious: the single women will get the money from married women.
How do single women get money from married women? That’s easy: Single women steal money from married women, via the vote. Single women overwhelmingly vote Democrat, because whether it is consciously thought through or not, single women realize it is married women who have most of the money. That provokes a reaction in single women: The single women want that money. How to get it? The best way to get that money, since they don’t have a husband, is for single women to vote Democrat, so the Democrats will steal money via taxation, from married women, who have all the money because they are married to hardworking men.
So single women are voting based on their essential selfishness and self-interest. They vote based on theft, based on self-interest, based on what they need: money. Single women, they want money, they have no husband, so they vote the Progressive left agenda out of selfish self-interest. Unless that issue can be addressed, conservatives are fighting a losing battle against progressivism, because it is fueled by women needing money and women being the majority of voters.
But the thing to note here is that married women are no better than single women, no more moral than single women, even though married women vote for fiscally conservative parties. Married women vote in a more moral way not out of morality, but they vote more morally in order to hold onto the money they already have, from their hard working husbands. That’s just self-interest, not superior political philosophy. That’s what drives married female voting patterns. Self-interest drives married female voting patterns. Single female voting patterns are also driven by self-interest: Single women don’t have a husband, so out of self-interest, they vote to steal the money, from married women. That means it’s not a poor political philosophy driving voting patterns, it’s pure self-interest on the part of single women, exactly like married women voting patterns are driven by self-interest.
Women that vote Republican really aren’t all that different than women that vote Democrat. Sure, Republican women are more likely to be married, which means they tend to be better looking than Democratic women, but essentially the two groups of women are mostly the same.
So this all means conservatives like Ben Shapiro and Liz Wheeler, and like most Republicans, are living in a naive fairy tale dreamland, when it comes to this issue of fiscal conservatism and small government and what causes it. They believe if they just change a few minds and make the right arguments, they can convert women from being Democrat voters, into being Republican voters….and thus bringing in fiscal conservatism. I call BS on the whole notion. It is female nature that drives women voting patterns. It’s simple: Women evolved to be looked after.
Republican ideas are great, but they are only great in a society where a large majority of women get married when they are young. In such a society women would have a vested interest in small government because it would protect the financial interest of their husbands….thus the women’s own money, indirectly. In a society where most women don’t get married, Republican ideas of small government, while morally superior and much more realistic and sustainable for society, have little practical appeal to most women. We now live in a society where the age of marriage has been delayed and many women don’t get married at all and the birthrate is at an all time low rate. This all means women have far less direct need for men in general and any need they have, can be taken care of financially by voting in Big Government….who then tax mostly men, to pay the bills for women. Either way, men pay.
The reason this political pattern of female voting preference exists, goes back to human biology: Women get pregnant. They have babies. This puts them at an economic disadvantage to men. Being a Mother is a huge burden. It’s a tremendous investment of time. The time it takes away from economic things is enormous. That’s why women earn less money than men do. In every society it’s the women who are having children and this takes away from them working at jobs for as many hours as men do. This lowers female wages.
The way women get around this financial disadvantage of pregnancy and child birth is to get married….if they can. The successful women find husbands when they are young. The unsuccessful ones become Democratic voters because they are romantically unsuccessful. Some of the future Republican female voters are voting Democrat in their 20s, because females evolved to be looked after. When they have no husband, they vote Democrat. If they get a husband, they will vote Republican. Once they have a husband, formerly Democratic female voters, they shift from voting for the Progressive agenda, into being fiscally conservative voters once they are married and have children. The change in female voting patterns happens once women are married because they suddenly realize the government is coming after their husbands money, via higher taxes…..to give to the unsuccessful and usually less attractive women….feminist Democratic voters. Marriage changes everything. Having children changes everything. If you want to end the Democratic Party and progressivism, you need to have women marry at a younger age, marry more often, and have more children. If you can do that, the future is Republican. If women delay marriage, don’t get married at all, have few children, then the future is Democratic. That’s the choice.
This pattern has been clear in the voting record on how and why women vote as they do, since women started voting. Republicans are deluded. It is not economic philosophy that drives voting patterns. It’s female self interest. Women are the ones who voted in Big Government, because it gives them a fall back position husband. It gives women a Substitute Husband, in case their first husband does not work out, or in case they cannot find a husband. The fact that women vote Democrat so often means men have failed. They have failed to construct a society where women get married at a young age and have children. The blame is on men. To make up for the deficiencies of men, here’s what women did: Women voted themselves in the biggest husband in America: the government. This husband will take money from hard working men and women, who are often married and Republican, and will give it to unmarried Democrat women.
Since women are the majority of the population, and since women live longer than men, and since women vote more often than do men, women effectively control the political process. All politicians know they must cater to the interest of voters to get elected. The majority of voters are women. So the interests of women must be taken into account, for failing to do this means electoral defeat for a candidate. That’s why Republicans, almost as much as Democrats, consistently vote in bigger and bigger and bigger government: they are catering to women. Failure to do so means Republicans will lose. Rather than fixing the real problem, which is lack of marriage and children, Republicans just push more money at women, just like the Democrats do. What fools. Women get their revenge for the moral failure of Republican men: the women vote Democrat. For them, given their situation, it’s the sensible thing to do.
So in any contest between “principles of small government” and the practicalities of women voting and what women like and want, the practicalities win every time.
Republicans are idiots on this issue.
Personally I think Liz is right. We will eventually not be able to afford all this Big Government. We have ten years at best, to continue this pattern, before the financial collapse of America and we turn into Greece….a complete disaster. Once the economy crashes, we can reset our political system.
