RELIGION and CHRISTMAS DAY Save for later Reblog
IF THE TRUTH BE TOLD
According to the site learn religions the following excert gives a condensed version of the meaning as well as the beginning of this day.
Christmas is celebration ofthe birth of Jesus Christ. The earliest celebration of Christmas, orthe feast of the Nativity, on December 25th was held in the year ADin Rome. The fullarticle can be viewed in the link below:
A strong theory suggests that thisdate was chosen by the church because of the majorpagan festival. So what is the pagan festival?
The pagan celebration of theWinter Solstice (also known as Yule) is the oldest wintercelebrations in the world. This is according to the BBC web site, link below:
A Roman Christian scholar,Valentinus produced the first documentation of Christmas beingcelebrated on December 25th as a special feast of the year in 354 AD.
We who truly believe in Godsee a problem with this. Why wait til 354 years after the death ofJesus Christ to celebrate his birth?
Besides there is evidence thatJesus was born in the spring, in history as well as the Bible. The rest of this article can be viewed in the link below:
The precise reason Christianscame to celebrate on December 25th remains obscure, researchersbelieve Christmas evolvedto celebrate pagan winter solstice by Christians.
Every winter, Romans honoredthe pagan god Saturn, beginning December 17th to December 25th. Thismarked the beginning of the new solar cycle. Full article below:
WHENWAS JESUS BORN?
While the Bibledoes not say the date of birth of Jesus, it does however give twoevents surrounding the birth, and it is not in the winter. Many haveinvestigated this, and their conclusion is, He was not born in thewinter.
THE REGISTRATION:
Shortlybefore the birth of Jesus, Caesar Augustus issued a decree ordering“all the inhabited earth to be registered”. It is suggestedthat Augustus would not have forced this during the winter, due tothe fact many would have taken weeks to make it to the city.
THE SHEEP:
Shepherdswere “living out doors watching their flock over night”.Daily Life in the Time of Jesus notes that the flocks lived in theopen air from Passover “late March” through mid-November.The winter was much too cold as well as damp from the winter season.
Jesuswas 30 years old when He began His ministry, this would mean He wasborn in the early fall not in the winter.
WHYIS CHRISTMAS ON DECEMBER 25TH?
Sincethere is no evidence that the birth of Christ occurred on Dec. 25th,why is Christmas celebrated on this day? Britannica says that thechurch leaders chose it “to coincide with the pagan Romanfestival marking the new solstice”. Encyclopedia Americana saysscholars believe that this was done”in order to makeChristianitymore meaningful to pagans.Information comes from strange places links below:
If we believe inGod as we say, then we must also believe in His laws passed down toall humanity, right?
Many so calledbelievers claim they follow His word, at the same time they celebratethis winter holiday, we all know that it is a holiday for the Romangod. God’s law number one:
“I am theLORD your GOD, which have brought you out of the land of Egypt, outof the house of bondage”.
YOU SHALL HAVE NOOTHER GODS BEFORE ME
Christians mayclaim that we are born into sin, and that we will be forgiven. Truefollowers will not agree with this idea, simply because it is not theright way of thinking. For one to be truly with the Creator, one mustreject the material world. this will remove the sin of the flesh, however there is still the sin of thought. This is harder to control,it is possible because we were all given the choice to accept or doour own research just to make sure we are not being mislead.
If we celebrateanything, it should be the death of Jesus Christ for taking all ofour sins away, so we may have ever lasting life with our heavenlyFather.
We have beengiven guide lines to follow, and if we do we will have our justreward, however if we pretend to believe then those we be judgedaccordingly. Here is where the serving two master comes into play, weknow it is wrong, but we do it anyway.
This way ofthinking we surly be judged, for the simple fact is we have a choice.
This change inthe religion brings up another question, why have so many fought tochange the true history? So far l have found it has been changed forreasons of convince as well as acceptance. This way of thinking isleading away of the real purpose of believing. We always come back toserving two masters, we can’t expect to be faithful living like thisideology.
Just a finalthought, everything historical has been predicted thousands of yearsago, there is no other religion that has 100% prediction rate.Something to think about when we live in the material world.
