Good evening! This will be my new series of articles about my tastes in music and my opinions on music too. For the first article ever, I won’t actually talk about music as such, but talk about what I like to call ‘Musical Discrimination’ A lot of people have very different and varied tastes in music, for example I’m a fan of dance, house but I also really like 30s and 40s music. Others may disagree and like, for example, rock or metal or pop. Where I find my problem with music though is when people discriminate other people due to their music tastes. One example of this that I listen to a boy band (yes, I know, a guy listening to a boy band) called ‘The Wanted’ because I guess I just like how they make their music. But when people call you names for liking different kinds of music? Not cool. Being discriminated for liking a different kind of music? Really not cool. What I’m trying to say is that if someone listens to a different type of music, why bother getting annoyed over it? There isn’t. I understand that this just doesn’t happen to me as I’ve seen it happen to other people. And ultimately what does it matter what kind of music people listen to? The thing is, it really doesn’t. We all should get along because there really isn’t a reason to get angry over different kind of musics. There are, and always will be hidden gems in different kinds of music, even if you originally don’t like the rest of the genre. It is always good to listen to different kinds of music. It’s happened to me before as I did not use to like Muse however some time ago I decided to listen to some of their songs. To my suprise I did enjoy ‘Isolated System’ from the album ‘The Second Law’ and also the song ‘Uprising’ from the album ‘Resistance’ I do not really enjoy the rest of the songs or the album itself, but those songs are quite fantastic. So my conclusion of this post is that don’t discriminate others for their kind of music and try out different kinds of music even if you think you might not enjoy as you may be suprised. Stay healthy.
