Israel is placing the city of Damascus under heavy assault, directly attacking military bases around the city, the city itself and its port. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone who is paying attention to the news and recent happenings around the globe.
During the last week, things have been “accelerating” and clearly not for the better. We have seen an inflation crisis in Argentina, a stalemate in Venezuela, an office fire in the Russian Central Bank and a downed passanger airplane near the Russian city, Sochi, the darling city of President Putin (fortunately nobody died or suffered grave injuries). Add all of these to the big announcement of last week, being that NATO decided to march 18,000 troops into Eastern Europe, and you got a recipe for a major global disaster.
Clearly the Doomsday Clock just Stroke 13.
This is, of course, not the end of the world by any means, however, the quick escalation of the situation is clearly noticeable. If we did not have adults among U.S. generals, in the Pentagon as advisers and in the Russian government, we would be looking at WW3. Naturally, the mainstream media keeps the drums beating with all their war- and fearmongering day and night. It is just hard to find a reasonable article published by the old guard article on these international issues, not even mentioning how hard it is to find a reasonable outlet with proper, unbiased editors.
