I ended my last post, “Why Kanye is Right”, by saying:
The Democrats want “Identity Politics”, which concentrates on how we are all different. But we already know that. What I want to know is: How are we all the same? How can we come together in a common vision? What can we base our identity on, as Americans?
Well, that’s a complicated question, far beyond the reach of my simple post, but one thing is for sure: We need governments that put local people, before people in other countries. Globalism is a failure. We need elites that stand up for the interests of our citizens of all races, or we won’t survive.
We need to focus on looking after everyone, not tearing ourselves apart.
It starts with money. That’s what Economic Nationalism is about. It’s a bunch of smart guys who are rich, finally realizing, the middle class and poor are being royally screwed by the system, which mostly benefits the rich. We better change things, to better look after the needs of the middle class…..or this country won’t survive.
And if you look at the spread of wealth in America, over the past few decades, the rich have gotten much richer, the middle class has gotten poorer. We used to be a more fair country, when it comes to income. We need to get back to that, only do it better this time. No one gets left out, this time. This time, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, along with middle class White Americans, we get our fair share.
Make America Great Again? Hell yeah.
In the Steve Bannon interview with Zanny Minton Beddoes, at 3:30 Steve is talking about a 10,000 word essay Zanny wrote in The Economist Magazine, of which she is editor.
Steve read it and said “In the 10,736 word essay in this newspaper, this week, to commemorate the 175th anniversary of The Economist. Everyone should read it. I just want to mention some words, you do not mention: Sovereignty, terror, terrorism, jihad, crime, defense, trade deficit, income inequality, or radical Islam”
The Economist is the paper of record, for the mainstream economic view of Europe. And what is that view? Well, basically no country should have sovereignty over it’s borders. That should be left to trans-national associations, which are beyond democratic reach, like the European Union. Europe is to stay open, to endless immigration. It’s interesting that the elites buy into this, and the elites are not that concerned about terrorism or trade deficits or income inequality. It says a lot about what is going on. It’s like the dog that didn’t bark, in the Sherlock Holmes novel.
The reason for this omission is obvious: the elites benefit from current arrangements, including high levels of immigration. The elites tend to be very well educated and live in nice, safe neighborhoods, and the elites are generally the ones making all the money off free trade. The power of the elites is not currently threatened by immigrants, who tend to be mostly low skilled. The middle class and lower classes in Europe could be economically threatened by the incoming migrants, but the elites in Europe, like the elites in America, generally don’t care about the middle class and lower middle class.
So in America, as in Europe, you have the same general pattern: the elites often wanting more immigration and so-called free trade, because they benefit from it….they make off like bandits.
And the plan among the elites is the same, every time: if you prefer the people who rule you, to look after your own interests, you are branded a “racist”. So unless you are willing to let in people to replace you, then you are “racist”. Unless you approve of the current economic arrangement, where a few people get all the money, you are a racist.
Our current free trade pattern, which mostly benefit the rich, had long historical roots:
In 1972 President Richard M. Nixon, went to China. It was historic. At the time China was solidly communist and very cut off from the world, not letting in trade, not letting in technology. Today China has embraced capitalism and science and technology and is neck and neck with America, as the world’ largest economy. In 1973 China was a very technologically backwards country, with a very large population, but a very smart population.
The British had set up shop in Hong Kong in the 1800s, during the heyday of the British Empire, took out a 99 year lease in 1898, and British rule of law, combined with capitalism and science, invented in Europe and America, was combined with Chinese smarts, to take a small backwards city of Hong Kong, to what it is today: smart, sophisticated, and very rich. In 1997 Hong Kong went back to China, and with the example of Hong Kong, of how China could be rich, change was inevitable.
Hong Kong is geographically embedded in China and has the same ethnic people as China. The fact that Hong Kong got very rich under capitalism, while the communists in China stayed poor, was not a lesson lost on the Chinese. The same geographic area, the same ethnic people, produced in China nothing but poverty, when they embraced communism. The same geographic area, the same ethnic people, produced among the Chinese in Hong Kong, great wealth…once they embraced capitalism. It was a perfect economic experiment, to compare the two systems. Also overseas Chinese who embraced capitalism were getting wealthy, from Taiwan, to Singapore, to Vancouver, to San Fransisco. These economic lessons were not lost, on the Chinese leaders.
What happened after the Nixon visit was China embraced capitalism with a vengeance, and we saw the largest and quickest economic expansion, in human history. GDP Annual Growth Rate in China averaged 9.61 percent from 1989 until 2018. Shiploads of money was made. A lot of it was made by Chinese, by hard work. And an awful lot of it went into the hands of rich American and European investors. This is the strongest growth ever, by a large economy in history, lifting hundreds of millions in China, out of poverty. So the tremendous good that capitalism did for the Chinese people, has to be acknowledged.
And this led to the quickest decline in global poverty in poverty, in human history. Jordan Peterson has commented on this. This was a good thing. The Chinese people, like the American people, deserve a good standard of living. Let’s not be unhappy, that they did very very well. Capitalism works, if you have good leaders. It radically decreases poverty, if it is run well. I’m happy for the Chinese and have no time for people that wish China ill will.
The Chinese were originally poor, 50 years ago, and now they are incredibly rich and are overtaking America as the world’s dominant economy. If China was very poor when they started embracing capitalism, where did they get the money from, to invest? Where did they get the technology from?
From Americans like Mitt Romney, who invested heavily in China, and made a fortune. China has cheap labor, a lot of it, and smart people. So Mitt and his Republican and Democratic investor cronies stabbed the American worker in the back, and made a lot of money, shipping jobs overseas. This led to the DE-industrialization of America and parts of Europe. It killed the City of Detroit, which used to have 4 Million people in it, was the economic backbone of America….and now has less than a million people and a lot of poverty. So the jobs are now in China. The Chinese worked hard and they got rich. China won, and got rich. The American elite got very, very rich. But this was done, at the expense mostly, of the American worker. Cheap labor, with open borders, means a man in Detroit who works in a car factory, must now compete on labor, with a Chinese worker willing to do the same job, at 1/10th the labor cost. This was an economic competition the American worker could not win, since their living costs were higher and their own elites were stabbing them in the back, for decades. The rich of Europe and America invested heavily in China, and they got even richer.
That’s why the elites embrace globalism and free trade. Sure the American worker was thrown under the bus, but that was a small price for them to pay, to make the rich in America, even richer. For decades, “Globalization” was sold to the public, as benefiting everyone. That was a scam. Don’t believe it. In fact, “Globalization” was mostly just the elites making money.
And now, after many decades of “Globalization”, the public in Europe in America are starting to realize, they have been had, they have been played and conned. Their leaders have failed them, and not looked after their interests. Their leaders have been looking after their own interests.
The world is currently organized in nation states. Countries have borders. In democracies, voters elect their leaders, so there is some control over who is running things. After decades, the public is starting to figure out, they are not in on the economic game. In fact, they lose, their leaders win, China wins. This is not how it is supposed to be. Leaders of countries are supposed to look after the economic interests of their citizens. The leaders of China are certainly doing that. The leaders of America and some of Europe, not so much.
That’s why we have Brexit. The British public, like the American public, is starting to realize they have been had. Their British leaders have not been had, just the people have got the shaft by Open Borders and current trade policies. The British elite, like the American elite, made a lot of money on globalization. This betrayal by the Western leadership class is changing politics around the world. In 2008 America had a financial collapse, which nearly destroyed our economy. Capitalism is a great system in many ways, but it can be destroyed by a corrupt class, which is selfish and only looking out for themselves. That’s what we have today. In fact “capitalism” must work within a set of moral conditions, where governments look after the financial interests of their citizens. If governments don’t do this, then capitalism itself falls apart, as it is starting to. Capitalism will only continue to work long term, in a generally moral system, where the government looks after the financial interests of it’s citizens. The moral failures of our leaders, is destroying the very system to create wealth.
“Make America Great Again” means getting back to an understanding, that it is the role of the political leaders, to look after the economic interests of it’s citizens. The Chinese government cares not a bit, for the American worker, and his fate, and the fate of his family. The leaders of China are doing the right thing: they are looking after their own people. That’s why China grew so quickly, got so wealthy, so quickly. I wish American leaders would get back to thinking like that. Part of the way the clever Chinese got so rich, so quickly, is they realized many of the leaders of America and Europe were stupid, corrupt fools, who could be bought off, and manipulated.
Part of the reason this happened was the racism of so many past American leaders. Because China was a poor, backwards country, they assumed they were dominant in the relationship with China. They assumed the leaders of America and Europe, who were for the most part white, were always more clever than the Chinese leaders. That was a very foolish assumption. China is a very old civilization with very clever people. On IQ tests, East Asians outscore whites, by 105 to 100.
When President Nixon met with the Chinese leaders, so did Henry Kissinger, who was Nixon’s Secretary of State, who set up the meetings. In meetings with Chinese leaders, the Chinese leaders praised Henry Kissinger and said “You are a very smart man”….which he is. Kissinger had a very interesting answer: “What does that make me? An average Chinese?”…our trade deficit was $800 Billion with China, for years. They have played us for fools, played our corrupt leaders in the past, for fools. It’s time for America, to stop being stupid.
The Democratic Party is all about open borders, all about Globalization, all about unlimited free trade and supporting current trade deals. They pretend they are like that because they are moral. That is a lie. They support those things because the American financial elites that control them, they get very rich off free trade. Our American financial elite on Wall Street, many of them are corrupt. Not all, there are good Americans there, too. Democrats support Open Borders because letting in migrants from the Third World gets them votes, which allows them to retain power. The Democrats lie to people, play on racial fears, because they want to divide Americans, so they can retain power.
Trouble is, all these Democrat ideas are destroying America. They already destroyed much of the American Middle Class. “Globalization” and “Open Borders” sounds good to any open minded, tolerant person, which most Americans of all races are. These ideas sounds good, till you actually watch what happens in the real world, and you quickly figure out, maybe those policies were good for a world long past, but for the world we are now in, they don’t work.
Democrats are yesterday’s party, with yesterday’s ideas. Governments must get back to setting the rules in place, which allow capitalism, allow lots of free trade, but fair trade, as President Trump keeps saying. That’s why he re-negotiated our trade deals: we were getting screwed by them. Democrats support Open Borders, but the truth is, America is rich, has a lot of welfare and government assistance, and if you open your borders, billions of people will want to come here, and we will destroy ourselves in no time at all.
Globalization already destroyed much of the middle class. We need a new economic deal, with better ideas, to grow the economy and give every American a chance at a good life. Democratic ideas simply won’t work.
Kanye West might not understand all this. He doesn’t spend a lot of time, thinking about economic theory and history. But the man is very smart, and has terrific instincts and is tired of being on “The Democratic Plantation”. That’s why he supports President Trump, who is trying to look after the American worker…..Black, White or Latino. We are in a new world now, and need leaders to look after our interests.
Make America Great Again? Dam rights we should.
Or what? What might happen? Take a look at the short video below. It’s where the rest of America is headed if we don’t change course, on Open Borders and Globalization:
The first American city to be a casualty of Globalization of Labor, was Detroit, which used to be very, very prosperous American city, just a few decades ago and is now a run down, poor American city. Millions of lives, millions of lives were destroyed by Globalization and our corrupt, greedy leaders. Detroit resident Ivan King summed up the downfall of Detroit, once the jobs left:
